Teaching & Learning Strategies: The learner engages project planning process through use of strategies and tools to design practice, in a studio-based learning pedagogy. Teaching & learning strategies supports the learner gain a practical and applied understanding and application of the principles through: • tutorials, • facilitated seminars, • facilitated peer-to-peer discussion, • e-learning, • presentation, • self-directed independent learning.
Module Aim: The aim of the module is to support learners acquire an applied understanding of project planning process. The aim is to afford the learner opportunity to use processes and tools to identify, evaluate and schedule a plan to execute a design process, and support effective use of available resources.
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module the learner should be able to:
LO1 describe and apply basic project management process used in design business and product development.
LO2 appraise resources to map against aims & objectives, to frame a planning process.
LO3 select and use appropriate tools to plan and schedule a basic design development plan, of resources and interconnected tasks.
LO4 estimate individual/team and resource inputs to effectively schedule a workflow plan and agree a group contact.
LO5 estimate a basic financial budgeting plan to inform design process viability.
LO6 document and justify planning, execution & termination process.

Introduction to working in and managing teams, collaborative planning tools.
