Stage 1

Elective Regulation
In order to progress to Stage 2, learners must have 80% attendance, and a mark of not less than 40%, in the module Preparation for Professional Practice.

Stage 2

Elective Regulation

Learners who fail the work placement element of the Supervised Professional Practice module shall be provided with one repeat opportunity in the next academic year, where IT Carlow is satisfied with the learner’s fitness and preparedness to practice.

Stage 3

Elective Regulation
In order to be eligible for the Award Stage, learners must have 80% attendance in the preparatory placement workshops and a mar of not less than 40% for the module Supervised Professional Practice 2. Learners who fail the work placement element of the Supervised Professional Practice module shall be provided with one repeat opportunity in the next academic year, where IT Carlow is satisfied with the learner’s fitness and preparedness to practice. Learners must also have completed 500 hours placement over the course of their programme of study.
