Teaching & Learning Strategies: |
The learner engages project planning and design management process through an applied studio-based learning pedagogy. Teaching & learning strategies supports the learner gain a practical understanding and application of the principles and tools necessary, through:
• tutorials, • facilitated seminars, • facilitated peer-to-peer learning, critique/review, • e-learning, • presentation, • self-directed independent learning. |
Module Aim: |
The aim of the module is to enable final year undergraduate learners engage the knowledge, skill, attitudes and behaviours to prepare a comprehensive project management plan, implement the plan and manage outcomes to successfully deliver a product design innovation project. Content delivery is aligned to the Product Design Innovation module. |

Project goals/objectives/targets, project scope & planning assumptions. Project team, resource assessment, stakeholder & organisation assessment. Project governance & communication strategy, authorisation of scope-change, quality framework, control & review review proceedure. Macro/micro environment & SWOT analysis.

Planning
Work Breakdown Structure (tasks, dependencies/resources, sequence, estimates); Critical Path (high-level time-line scheduling); Gantt Chart (gantt planning & milestones, risk assessment and risk mitigation).

Documentation Protocol (design process).
