Teaching & Learning Strategies: The supervisor and student will be furnished with a continuous assesment record book (CARB) placement booklet. This includes the student code of conduct; supervisor repsonsibilities while on placement; a list of student competencies, the assessment criteria and a feedback evaluation process will be implemented at mid way and at the final term for each work placement site. The student may be visited on site by the work placement coordinator from IT Carlow. The student will set objectives, discuss progress and identify potential problems with their supervisor. At the end of each work placement site, all students will fill out an Appraisal report for each work placement site. The student will be required to develop a work placement plan outlining objectives to be achieved with the supervisor.
Module Aim: To enable the student to apply and consolidate their competent skills and techniques acquired during the academic programme in a real work applied learning setting in a supervised relevant work environment.•To develop the students ability to effectively communicate content related to the field of sport and exercise science.

On successful completion of this module the learner should be able to:
LO1 Opportunity to expand on his/her current knowledge base through a real world applied learning experience.
LO2 Implementation of the students competent practical skills in sport and exercise science setting in relation to exercise and health or athletic performance under the supervision of a clinical supervisor
LO3 Developed analysis and critically evaluation of athletic performance and intervention within training programme planning
LO4 Gained knowledge in the day to day running of a performance or institute centre.
LO5 Be able to identify potential markets for future employment.
