Teaching & Learning Strategies: Training Course: Students work individually to produce a manual containing a specification, plan, presentation slides and notes, demonstration notes, laboratory practice sheet, take-home material and an appropriate assessment. Web Programming/Database Application: Students work in groups of 4 to a detailed specification for a common type of business. They produce database layouts, user interface design and code. General Points: 1. Each student meets his tutor at a scheduled weekly meeting. 2. Detailed standards, guidelines and deadlines are published and strictly enforced for each component.
Module Aim: To introduce the student to two types of project work – an individual project drawing on the students’ own personal abilities and a group project requiring interaction with a small number of fellow students.

On successful completion of this module the learner should be able to:
LO1 Develop and present a training course for a specific need and a specific target group.
LO2 Participate as a team member in developing a web programming / database application for a common type of business.
