Module Aim: |
The aim of this module is to build upon and enhance the varying practical skills student's have learned throughout the programme so far. Included will be production planning and management, studio and location production practices applied to current, 'real world' content and subject matter. |

Module Content & Assessment
This module is designed to enhance and advance the knowledge and skills acquired thus far on the programme. The module will focus on professionally devising, developing, planning, managing and executing recordings covering current, 'real world' non fiction content and subject matter. The approach to and quality of all elements of production is expected to be more elevated where particular emphasis and attention is on research and programme content.
Throughout the module, the student can expect to;
*Advance existing production editorial and technical skills.
*Further develop conceptual understanding of the production processes and wider production contexts.
*Execute recordings that will culminate into a comprehensive, accurate broadcast length television programme.
*Professionally pitch to a commissioning editor their ideas for a television programme.
*Research and source professional/semi professional presenters and credible contributors to drive and feature in the programme.
*Conceive, develop, design and construct appropriate physical sets for the programme.
*Prepare, compile, manage and produce a comprehensive, professional production file of the programme.
*Assess, the processes, the completed programme and their role within through reflective, critical analysis.

Production Research
Student's will plan, design and participate in the research processes applying the knowledge, attributes and skills of the production researcher.

Recordings
Throughout production, assume varying roles of studio and location crew and personnel.

Group Presentation (Pitch)
Conceive, plan, develop and deliver a comprehensive proposition (pitch) for production to an acting commissioning editor.

Production File
Student's will contribute to the compilation of the Production File. This comprehensive production document includes all production paperwork from conceptual ideas and designs through to the completed production paperwork.

Reflective Critical Analysis
Students cognitively learn from assessing their practical work through written, reflective, critical analysis.
