Teaching will be conducted by means of lectures, tutorials and group discussion. Practical demonstration and project-based learning will allow the students to apply theory to practice. Self – directed learning and reflection will be implemented during module.
Module Aim:
The aim of this module is to enable the student to develop skills and techniques that relate to radio and podcast production.
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module the learner should be able to:

Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of recording location and studio sound for radio and podcasts.
LO2
Display knowledge of industry standard audio production/manipulation software.
LO3
Examine and troubleshoot sound recordings as well as post-production sound mixing in studio and on location.
LO4
Encode emotion through the use of audio multi-track layering.
LO5
Demonstrate the ability to plan, develop and produce content for radio and podcasts in a creative manner.

Radio Sound Production for different genres
A study of radio content to include: chat show, news, vox pops, documentary & advertising content.
Radio & Audio Production - Practical
Pre-production audio - planning to produce audio content for radio, documentary and podcasts. Production audio - recording location and studio sound for various genres. Post-production audio -
mixing post-production sound for various genres.
Radio Shows
Planning and producing radio shows. Content needed, studio set-ups, microphone set-ups and live sound mixing.
Radio Documentary
Elements needed to produce a radio documentary including: research & recce, content, recording contributors, recording at different locations, post-production.
