The module aims to provide the student with the ability to use inventory management tools across a wide range of industry sectors and a comprehensive understanding of Materials Management. |
Learning Outcomes |
On successful completion of this module the learner should be able to: |
LO1 |
Explain the operation and location of stores and warehouses, and examine their role, and the role of inventory in supply chains. |
LO2 |
Select and apply appropriate inventory and materials management tools and techniques in a manufacturing and distribution environment. |
LO3 |
Distinguish between the planning and execution of job-shop, batch manufacturing, mass production and JIT operations, and explain the role of inventory management in each. |
