This module concentrates on the technical and practical training required for effective communication at aerodromes. The module consists of lectures, practical exercises, and simulated radio conversations
Module Aim:
To provide specialist aviation radio telephony training in order to comply with the requirements of ICAO document 9870 which outlines the formal communications training and assessment for drivers and other personnel who operate on or near the runway
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module the learner should be able to:

Complete radio conversations with ATC
LO2
Be proficient in the use of voice procedure including readback procedures.
LO3
Understand the different frequencies and their roles within aerodrome operations
LO4
Understand aerodrome call sign structure and handover/transfer points for vehicles
LO5
Be proficient in the use of the phonetic alphabet and standard phraseology and acronyms
