Teaching & Learning Strategies: Lectures - communication of knowledge and ideas from lecturer to student. Lab sessions - communication of knowledge by demonstration from the lecturer to the student. Problem Solving Exercises - student will work both individually and as part of a team to resolve various computer applications tasks/ scenarios. E-Learning - the module will be supported with online learning materials. Self-Directed Independent Learning - the emphasis on independent learning will develop strong and autonomous work and learning practices. Project Work - Students will produce a professional standard project by applying the knowledge, skills and competencies learned during the course.
Module Aim: The aim of this module is to develop skills and knowledge expected of a manager, in relation to information systems in the organisation
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module the learner should be able to:
LO1 Analyse the use of Information Systems to ensure competitive advantage for organisations and to support managers in decision making at all levels in the organisation
LO2 Critically evaluate the strategic use of Information Systems and Acquisition methodologies
LO3 Apply project management and enterprise resource planning software to typical business scenarios.
LO4 Develop a web presence using web deployment applications, collaborative tools and social networking applications
LO5 Integrate management applications in Enterprise resource planning (ERP)systems automating back office functions.
