This module will be taught by Lectures, Tutorials, Class/Group Discussions and the analysis of a range of maintenance data, manuals and up-to-date aviation legislation documents. |
Module Aim: |
The student will understand specific aircraft legislation documentation and how they affect and control all aspects of aircraft operations and maintenance engineering. |

Explain the relationships between the various (inter)national Aviation Regulatory Frameworks |

Discuss the legal requirements affecting the design/production and certification of aircraft, parts and appliances, with particular focus on European Implementing Rules (Part-21) |

Conceptualise and apply the main legislative requirements behind the continued airworthiness and maintenance of aircraft, with particular focus on European Implementing Rules (Part-66, Part-145 & Part-M) |
LO4 |
Apply the main legislative requirements affecting staff involved in the certification of aircraft maintenance, with particular focus on European Implementing Rules (Part-66, Part-145, Part-M & Part-147) |
LO5 |
Analyse the rationale behind the legal documentation required for aircraft operations & certification under EU-OPS, Part-M, Subpart G, & Part CAMO |
