Teaching & Learning Strategies: Labs - communication of knowledge and ideas from the lecturer to the student. Students will perform inventory materials managements roles whilst completing case studies in an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) simulation. Problem Solving Exercises - student will work as part of a team and will work together to resolve various scenarios. Class Discussion/Debate - Students will be encouraged to actively participate in the class sessions which will develop their analytical and communication skills. Self-Direct Independent Learning - the emphasis on independent learning will develop a strong and autonomous work and learning practices.
Module Aim: The module aims to develop the student's proficiency to use SAP's S/4 Hana system and a comprehensive understanding of Production and Materials Management within an enterprise-wide transactional processing system (ERP TPS), highlighting the inter-related nature of modular ERP system and how the relationships, within and between system modules, affects the ultimate set-up and utilization of such systems for organizational transaction processing capabilities.
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module the learner should be able to:
LO1 Create master data within an ERP system (Material, Vendor and Customer).
LO2 Assess and discuss production execution (MTO vs Forecast Driven Planning and MPS & MRP Runs) and material management (Vendor & Customer Interaction) methods at end user level.
LO3 Execute end to end supply chain process planning and implementation and solve practical issues in an ERP system's set-up (manual processing to complete tasks).
