Module Aim:
The student will be able to outline the key determinants of behaviour in an organisation. The student will understand the factors contributing to employee behaviour, motivation and good communication within an organisation. The student will understand how organisations develop a communication and leadership rich environment. Students will understand how important these soft skills of interpersonal communications, intercultural communications, motivation in terms of employees and self-motivation help to drive performance and a performance-based culture.

On successful completion of this module the learner should be able to:

On completion of this L.O. students will have a set of skills and tools which will enable them to fulfil their managerial roles more effectively. Specifically: (a) with respect to Communications determine the key barriers to effective communication identify proactive methods of communications which enable strategic communications. Examine the impact of social media within the organisation.
LO2
On completion of this L.O. students will have a set of skills and tools which will enable them to fulfil their managerial roles more effectively. Specifically: with respect to Leadership. Identify the attributes and functions of an effective leader Identify the leadership styles and values that that impact an organisation. Examine how organisation enable effective leadership.
LO3
On completion of this L.O. students will have a set of skills and tools which will enable them to fulfil their managerial roles more effectively. Specifically: with respect to Motivation: capability to perform a motivational audit within an organisation.
Identify key motivational factors which impact on work performance Identify the key motivational factors for improving work performance.
LO4
On completion of this L.O. students will have a set of skills and tools which will enable them to fulfil their managerial roles with respect to managing performance. Capability to identify the environmental factors which affect motivation within an organisation. Students will be able to understand how to drive and maintain performance in individuals and team.
