Teaching & Learning Strategies: This module will be delivered by use of lectures, discussion, case study, problem-solving exercises, work-based learning, readings, project work- presentations , self-directed learning, previous placement, e – learning, blended learning or a combination of methods
Module Aim: The aim of this module is to develop students’ critical thinking and reflection skills in order to enhance their academic performance and to enable them to respond creatively and critically to the complex and evolving practice contexts of Y&C work. While the development of critical thinking skills is emphasised across the programme, this module seeks to complement and support students' learning in other modules by addressing this core competency in a more focused way.
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module the learner should be able to:
LO1 Apply critical thinking skills to their academic work and to decision-making within Y&C work practice
LO2 Critically reflect on the concept of the profession and on their identity and purpose as a Y&C worker
LO3 Defend their personal and professional values in a reasoned way
