Teaching & Learning Strategies: The learning outcomes detailed above will be achieved through the following teaching methodologies: • Workshop discussion - communication of knowledge and ideas from the lecturer to the student. • Problem Solving Exercises/Case Studies – students will work as part of a team and will work together to discuss and evaluate scenarios related to placement. • Class Discussion/Debate - Students will be encouraged to actively participate in the class sessions which will develop their analytical, communication and practical skills. • E-Learning – It is envisaged that the module will be supported with on-line learning materials including discussion boards, blogs. • Self-Directed Independent Learning – the emphasis on independent learning will develop a strong and autonomous work and learning practices. • Placement experience – students will go on a supervised professional placement for weeks and put their skills into practice.
Module Aim: The aims of this module are to prepare students for additional experience in youth and community work and continue to develop student’s reflexivity and critical thinking skills.

LO1 Evaluate how egalitarian values of youth and community work are implemented in their practice
LO2 Critically reflective on the evolution of their professional identity as youth and community workers
LO3 Apply and critically evaluate different frameworks for practice
