Module Aim: The aim of this subject is to develop students’ critical evaluation of emerging and evidence based assessments, models of practice, interventions and process work in social care settings

Students will develop an understanding of the philosophy of care in social care practice and evaluate key social care theories and models, eg Strengths based, solution focused and problem solving approaches; Systems theory; Ecological theory; Narrative therapy model; Crisis Intervention; Task Centred Practice; Wheel of Change and Motivational Interviewing; Restorative practice in social care work.
