Stage 1 / Semester 1

Elective Regulation • Learners must obtain 60 credits in each stage in order to move to the next stage of the process. Note: In extenuating circumstances the students may APPLY carry a maximum of 10 credits onto the next stage of the programme (with the agreement of the School Progression Board). This is applicable to all modules except the four lead Design modules in each year. Design Studio 1 (skills and Process), Design Studio 2 (Design for Industry), Design Studio 3 (Industrial Design) and Design Studio 4 (Product Design). |

Elective Regulation To accommodate incoming Erasmus students the 20-credit year long studio module Design Studio 2 is broken into two 10 credit elective modules in design studio. For registered design students it is mandatory to take the 20 credit year long module Design Studio 2. |

Stage 3 / Semester 1

Elective Regulation Design Studio 3 is positioned in Semester 2 but will run in Semester 1 also. To accommodate incoming and outgoing Erasmus students and though electing to do work placement, the 20-credit yearlong studio module is broken into two 10 credit elective modules in design studio. In Semester 1 students must choose to stay on campus, go on Erasmus (Edu+ Academic) or do work placement (Edu+ Work) If they choose Erasmus or work placement they will not take any other module in Semester 1. On their return they will choose the following modules (Design Studio 3 (Artifact and UX Design), Academic Research Writing, Surface Finishing & Detailing, Form & Specification, and Digital Publication. If they choose to stay on campus they must choose the following (Design Studio 3 (Industrial Design), Data Visualisation, Modelling Design Features, 3D Rapid Prototyping, and Design Culture and Society). in semester 1 and Academic Research Writing, Surface Finishing & Detailing, Form & Specification, and Digital Publication in semester 2. |
